President William Ruto has strategically engaged key economic advisers from the late Raila Odinga’s team, including Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o and other academics, to help develop policies aimed at transforming Kenya into a First World nation. This collaboration follows Odinga’s death in October 2025 and represents Ruto’s ambitious plan requiring £5 trillion in investment. The move signals efforts to build political consensus whilst potentially targeting ODM strongholds ahead of the 2027 elections.
